The session, taking place on 29 April 2026 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm via Microsoft Teams, will be led by both a midwife and an obstetrician, offering an opportunity to hear from two specialist perspectives and ask questions in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Open to anyone who has experienced a previous Caesarean section, the session will explore choices for future deliveries, including vaginal birth after Caesarean (VBAC) and planned repeat Caesarean birth.
Josie Lutchman, Specialist Midwife in Personalised Care and Choice at Leeds Teaching Hospitals said: “This is a really exciting new antenatal education session for anyone who’s had a previous Caesarean section and wants to better understand their options for their next birth. Whether you’re considering a vaginal birth or a repeat Caesarean, this session is designed to give you clear information and the confidence to make the right decision for you.
“One of the great things about these sessions is that you can join from the comfort of your own home, perhaps sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea, alongside anyone who’s supporting you in your decision-making. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions directly to both a midwife and an obstetrician, which makes it a really valuable experience.”
The session forms part of a wider programme of antenatal education, with further developments planned in the coming months. A second session is already scheduled for June 2026, with more details to be announced soon.
Places are free but must be booked in advance by emailing: [email protected]
Birth After Caesarean
Hi, my name is Josie, and I’d like to quickly tell you about a really exciting new antenatal education session we have, and that’s on birth after Caesarean. This is relevant for anyone who’s had a previous Caesarean section and wishes to understand their options for their next delivery, whether that be a vaginal birth, or a repeat Caesarean section. The beauty of these sessions, is you can join from the comfort of your own home, on your sofa with a cup of tea, with anyone around you who’s going to help you with that decision making and retaining that information. And we’ll have a midwife and an obstetrician presenting and delivering this material. So you’ve got an opportunity to ask questions of both specialties. We think it’s going to be a huge success. Please, please do look at the details below to sign up and spread the word and watch this space because we’re hoping we’re going to have lots more developments in antenatal education coming forward. But we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Thank you.
