Anaphylaxis
What is Anaphylaxis ?

Urticaria and or angioedema
For the patient to receive the most accurate and timely review, photographs at the time of referral will speed up advice provided and aim to exclude alternative diagnoses. Whilst this is not mandatory, it is encouraged.

Adverse reactions to insect bites
Insect stings can cause life threatening anaphylaxis. See symptoms and referral guidance.

Adverse reactions to food
IgE-mediated food allergy typically presents with a limited range of symptoms, most commonly including urticaria and angioedema following ingestion of the suspected allergen.

Allergic rhinitis/rhinoconjunctivitis and non-allergic rhinitis
Rhinitis may arise from either allergic or non-allergic factors. Despite the different causes, both types produce similar symptoms, including sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, and allergic conjunctivitis.

The general drug allergy service offers drug skin prick testing, intradermal tests, and challenge testing where appropriate.

The autoinflammatory service is one of a small handful in the UK. It manages patients with periodic fever syndromes as well as acquired autoinflammatory syndromes including VEXAS.
