The Physiotherapy Service helps to restore movement and function when you are affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future. Our team at Chapel Allerton Hospital can provide exercise programmes to improve range of movement and strength; mobility/moving and handling assessments ± the provision or walking aids or equipment; posture management; signposting to community groups (e.g. Nuffield Joint Programme Website or Leeds Encouraging Activity In People Website); Motivational Interviewing.
Band 6 Physiotherapist
We regularly have a Band 6 Physiotherapist working with the Rheumatology team as part of a 1 year, trust-wide rotation. The rotation provides practitioners with the opportunity to gain experience in a specialist, senior role and enables them to enrich the Rheumatology team with the up-to-date knowledge and experience that they have already acquired during their professional development.
Band 5 Physiotherapist
We are not always guaranteed a Band 5 Physiotherapist as part of the Rheumatology team. When in post however, these junior members of the team play a vital role in helping to run our Introduction to Exercise class. They also bring a broad knowledge base, lots of enthusiasm and new areas of interest to explore. This is of great benefit to both patients and the team.
