Leeds Urology service brings together fourteen Consultant Urologists with the support of a team of highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialists plus Consultant Clinical and Medical Oncologists, each a recognised specialist in their field.

Urology is mainly based at St James’s University Hospital, but some services are also offered at other sites. Most outpatient appointments are held in the Paul Sykes Centre, but can also be in the Bexley Wing. Flexible Cystoscopies, Lithotripsy and Day Surgery are in the David Beevers Unit, next door to the Paul Sykes Centre. Radiotherapy and other Oncology treatments are undertaken in Bexley Wing. Main surgery is done in Geoffrey Giles Theatre Suite and the urology ward is J42 in Lincoln Wing.

Benign Team

Benign Urology Nurse Specialists are specially trained registered nurses who care for patients with bladder problems, lower urinary tract symptoms, and urinary incontinence.
Andrology

The service is run by two experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists who are both Independent Non-Medical Prescribers.
Nurse-led Cystoscopy Service

The Nurse-Led Cystoscopy Service is based within the David Beevers Day Unit and is delivered by a team of four Nurse Cystoscopists.
Lithotripsy

The Lithotripsy Clinic is based in the David Beevers Day Unit at St James’ University Hospital and is run by a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
ACP – LED Prostate Diagnostic Service

The service provides assessment and investigation for patients.
Urodynamics

This service is run by a team of clinical scientists who provide an assessment on the function of the lower urinary tract.
Ward J42 Lincoln Wing

Ward J42 is a 28-bed mixed-sex urology ward located on the Ground Floor of the Lincoln Wing at St James’s University Hospital.
Outpatient Department

Urology Outpatients supports the assessment and investigation of patients attending consultant-led, Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) clinics.
Urology Surgical Care Practitioners

Advanced healthcare professionals working within the specialist urology multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout the surgical pathway.
Urology Consultants

Our team of Urology Consultants provides expert diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of urological conditions affecting the urinary tract and male & female reproductive system.
Urology Management Team

The Urology Management Team provides leadership and oversight for the urology service, ensuring high-quality patient care, effective service delivery, and continuous improvement across the department.
